He called few members of his Parish regarding this and decided to meet the Parish Priest the next day. On 01 Jan 2010, the feast of the Mother of God, Fr Seraphim of St Mary’s Church blessed their rosaries and the new mission. They prayed at the grotto of Mother Mary and consecrated the “Soldiers of Holy Rosary” to her. Later they assembled at his home and they recited the first ever prayer of SHR, the complete rosary (Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious mysteries) and ended with the chaplet of Divine Mercy. Ever since, the practice of reciting the complete rosary on First Saturdays of every month and on the feast days of Mother Mary has continued till date.
Days went by and many among his family and friends were inspired by this charism and they began the practice of reciting the complete rosary in their respective places on First Saturdays of every month and on the feast days of Mother Mary.
On 12th May 2010, after the Holy Mass, he was praying along with three devout women, before the altar of St Mary’s Church, while his wife and brother-in-law were attending the trial of his case in the Dubai courts. Suddenly he had a vision, felt an immense peace within him and he knew his case would have a positive outcome. In his vision, he saw a Bible, a dove and two hands clasped together in prayer. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, he felt the need to start the practice of reciting the complete rosary every day after the daily mass to which the three women readily agreed. The next day, on 13th of May 2010, on the feast of the Lady of Fatima, they gathered in the Babies’ room (adjacent to the altar in St Mary’s Church), recited the complete rosary, praying for the intentions of the Holy Father and St Mary’s parishioners, concluded with the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Soon the group grew in numbers with many different nationalities joining them. They started witnessing a lot of miracles through the power of their Rosaries.
Soon, the Soldiers of Holy Rosary took shape in two other parishes in UAE, St Francis of Assisi - Jebel Ali and St Michael’s Church – Sharjah as well as other parts of the world. Today, the Soldiers of Holy Rosary has formed small clusters in different parts of India, Europe, Philippines, Malaysia, Canada, Kuwait and USA.
However, the Confraternity of St Mary’s Parish, Dubai, continues to be the powerhouse of the Soldiers of Holy Rosary. Since inception, they have been reciting the complete rosary every day without fail (except Friday), praying for the Holy Father’s intentions and for all the Soldiers of Holy Rosary around the world. Even during the pandemic lock down, they continued their rosaries through the zoom platform.
